Information Age – Predictions from 1984

December 2, 2008

Searching through a folder of interesting old articles I for some reason had kept for future reference, I came across one from the February 6, 1984,  ComputerWorld: “DP Megatrends” which expounded upon the implications for information systems of John Naisbitt’s best-seller Megatrends.

Of the ten mentioned, megatrend #8 seemed the most prescient: “We are giving up our dependence on hierarchical structures in favor of informal networks.”

Hence, this blog now is only one of many millions.  That’s a lot of 0’s and 1’s to sort through.

Hopefully, readers will find something useful or interesting herein from time to time.
